Privacy Policy

Developer built the UrlPlayer app as free to use app. This app is provided by the Developer at no cost and is intended for use as is.

This page is used to inform visitors regarding my policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use my app.

If you choose to use my app, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that I collect is used for providing and improving the app. I will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which is accessible at the app unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

For a better experience, while using the app, I may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to technical data of a device. The information that I request will be retained on your device and is not collected by me in any way.

When the artwork lookup is enabled, the app sends the song and artist text supplied by the radio station to the two public music catalogue searches listed below in order to find cover art. No account, device identifier or listening history is sent, and the lookup can be switched off in Settings.

When you share a station through the Shared streams feature, the stream address you chose is uploaded to a shared list hosted on Google Firebase and becomes visible to other users of the app. No name, account or device identifier is attached to it.

Station search sends the text you type to the public radio-browser.info directory in order to find stations. To label a station that sends no name or picture, the app may look the stream address up in that directory, fetch the station's own homepage (the address the stream announces) and search Wikipedia for the station's name; only the station's name or address is sent, never anything about you. The AI music screen reads a public Google Drive folder through the Google Drive API; only the request itself is sent.

The app uses Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics and Performance Monitoring) to collect anonymous usage statistics, crash reports and performance data, as described under Log Data. Casting to AirPlay, Chromecast or Bluetooth devices happens on your local network only. When you sign in with Amazon (Settings, Alexa), your station names, stream addresses, favourite flags and list order are stored on Google Firebase under your Amazon account id so that the UrlPlayer Alexa skill can play them on your Echo; when you sign in on another device or after a reinstall, the app reads that saved list back once and offers to import it; the app also checks each stream once for an https address the Echo can use; a station name you ask the Echo for that is not in your list is looked up in the public radio-browser.info directory (only the spoken name is sent, no account data). Signing out removes that list.

Your station list, playback history, liked tracks and the cover index are stored on your device and may be included in the Android backup of your own Google account under Google's terms. Paired-device credentials and Bluetooth history are never backed up.

The app does use third party services that may collect information used to identify you.

Log Data

I want to inform you that whenever you use the app, in a case of an error in the app I collect data and information (through third party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device id, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing the app, the time and date of your use of the app, and other statistics.

Cookies

Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory.

This app does not use these “cookies” explicitly. However, the app may use third party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service.

I value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and I cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Children’s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case I discover that a child under 13 has provided me with personal information, I immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact me so that I will be able to do necessary actions.

I may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. I will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
